My Wedding Dress

Posted on July 1st, 2008

Here are a few pics of my wedding dress. This is when I took it out of the bag when I got it home, so it’s wrinkled and not done up right. The back laces up and the black sash ties in back and then hangs down. I think it is just beautiful!

Cricut Design Studio: What it is and Why you Need It

Posted on July 1st, 2008

Many crafting enthusiasts have fallen in love with their personal electronic diecut machine, the Cricut. A new addition to the already popular product is the development of a software program created just for Cricut users.

Cricut Design Studio is a computer software program created by Provocraft, the designers of the Cricut machine. While the machine itself allows the user to cut various shapes and fonts in a rage of sizes, the Cricut Design Studio takes it to a whole new level. Simply connect the Cricut to the computer via a USB port, install the software, and unleash a whole new dimension of crafting.

The main benefit of the Cricut Design Studio is the ability for users to weld, or connect letters together to form a single cutting. Gone are the days of gluing each letter one at a time. Now letters, phrases, and shapes can be welded together before cutting making it faster and easier than ever to add cuttings to projects.

Another benefit of the Cricut Design Studio is that the shapes and letters can be manipulated extensively before cutting. Users are no longer limited to only adjusting the size, but can now change the shape properties to better support their overall design. Each image can be stretched, slanted and flipped to get the exact look the crafter is needing.

While the Cricut Design Studio has benefit after benefit, my personal favorite is the ability to incorporate images from various cartridges into one design. The user can now design with all the cartridge options at once instead of being limited to cutting with one cartridge at a time.
Advanced and ultra-creative users have created awe inspiring projects by combining several different cartridges into one incredible cutting.

The Cricut Design Studio is, in my opinion, a necessity for every Cricut owner. While there is a learning curve to it, once it is understood the creative options are absolutely unlimited. The Cricut and the Design Studio have become a must-have resource for every scrapbooker and card maker today.

Cricut Ebook and Free Pictures

Posted on June 4th, 2008

I’ve been in hibernation for a while finishing up my ebook. I am really close to launching it…. Anyway, just my excuse for why I’ve been MIA.

In case you haven’t seen the free offer for Snapfish here’s the link. I already have an account, but I’m gonna set one up for John’s mom and print her pics from this year so far.

Nat’l Scrapbook Day Card

Posted on April 26th, 2008

Saturday, May 3rd is National Scrapbook Day. The store is having make-n-takes all day. Just wanted to share mine. Come in and make it for free from 2-5 p.m. I only cut enough for 40 so you’ll have to get there before they run out.

Ice Cream CardIce Cream Card Inside

I used the DoodleCharms Cricut Cartridge and Design Studio to weld it together to make the card.
The ice cream scoop is a Bazzill Bling and I added the clear Stickles.
Hope to see you there!

Spring Clean for Africa

Posted on April 25th, 2008

Well, it’s that time again-spring cleaning is here. If you are like me, your scrapbook supplies could use a good cleaning and organizing day. So what to do with all of those extra supplies? (You know…that paper you just HAD to have). I just found out that there is a group going to South Africa to help people with AIDS by helping them create memory albums about themselves for their loved ones. You can read the newspaper article here.  I’ve contacted them to get the details, so if anyone would like to help email me.

Missing in Action…

Posted on April 7th, 2008

I know it has been forever since I posted. So busy lately with the wedding plans and working more hours at the store. I have two digital albums I’m trying to do for clients. I’m also still working on my Cricut Design Studio video tutorials. And driving back and forth between John’s house and mine….it’s exhausting. I am really looking forward to living in ONE place and getting settled in.

John’s mom took me to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and bought us new bedding and gorgeous window treatments. (Wow those are expensive!!!!) I’ll have to take a picture and put it up.

I have a card class tomorrow night. I’m using SEI dill(something) collection and the Travel cartridge for the Cricut.  I’ll try to actually post the pictures this time.

Until next time….

My Ring!!

Posted on February 24th, 2008

John and I went to dinner with our friends Nicole and Brent for Valentine’s Day. He made reservations for the Cheesecake Factory. John had dropped lots of hints that I was finally going to get the ipod I had been threatening to go out and buy.

We exchanged gifts(yes, I got my ipod:) ) and ordered our food. John got up to go to the bathroom and when he came back before I knew it he was down on one knee. I don’t even remember what he said. I was surprised because he had me connvinced we were going on a trip in April.

They even decorated my plate when dessert came out. The cheesecake was incredible!

Check out these notecards I found on CafePress! For all the time I spend making and teaching cardmaking, this one might just be my favorite:) The store’s name is Your Memories by Design.

Setting the Date

Posted on January 21st, 2008

We have officially set our date. I took the deposit to the chapel today and after all is said and done our wedding will be…

October 25, 2008
John went to see the chapel with me and he agrees that the one we (okay, I) picked was worth the extra expense. I’m starting to get excited. I’ve been looking at wedding dresses online. I am SCARED to go try them on. You know that clothes shopping feeling when you try something on and feel horrible, well, that’s what I am afraid of. Realizing how much I need to be excercising!
I did just get a pair of new running shoes…

Our Chapel

Posted on January 14th, 2008
John and I chose our chapel! I loved this one called Bella Gardens. It was a little more expensive than the others, but John said we can reserve it!

I love the door…I can’t wait for the photographs! I am getting really excited.

The bride’s room is very pretty. Much larger than the others that I have looked at.

I don’t feel like I have time to plan a wedding!!!! We are thinking probably September 16, 2008. I better get on the ball….
